Employer refusing to pay due salary after resignation?

I resigned from my job in Chennai last month and completed my notice period. However, my employer is now refusing to pay my last month's salary. They claim there were issues with my performance, but this was never discussed before my resignation. I relied on this income to pay my bills and I feel stressed. What are my rights and how can I legally claim my dues? I've tried contacting HR multiple times without any response.
