Landlord wants to evict us within a week without valid reason?

I live in a rented apartment in Chennai with my family. My landlord suddenly called and said we must vacate the premises by next week. We've never missed a rent payment and the lease agreement isn’t up for renewal for another 6 months. He’s threatening to shut off utilities if we don’t comply. We’re stressed and I don’t know if he can legally do this. What are my rights as a tenant under Tamil Nadu law? Can I challenge this eviction notice?
