Landlord is threatening eviction after I refused to pay extra maintenance fees?

I rent an apartment in Bengaluru, and my landlord suddenly demanded an additional ₹10,000 as maintenance this month, citing increased society charges. This wasn't mentioned in our rental agreement. I refused to pay without proper documentation, and now he's threatening to evict me in a week. I feel really stressed as I have nowhere else to go immediately. What rights do I have, and how should I handle this situation?
