Landlord entered my apartment without notice in Bangalore?

I live in Bangalore and my landlord entered my flat without informing me. I found out because a neighbor saw him and told me. I feel like my privacy has been violated. There was no emergency to justify this intrusion. Our lease agreement states that he should notify me before entering. What are my rights in this situation and how can I prevent this from happening again?
