Brother sold our family jewellery without telling me, how can I get it back?

I'm from Jaipur and recently discovered that my brother sold our family jewellery without informing me. We inherited it from our mother and it's worth around ₹5 lakhs. I feel completely betrayed and I don't know what legal action I can take. He claims it was necessary but didn't even discuss it with me. Is there a way to demand its return or compensation? I'm really worried about this.
